BAT WARS SpeedPass

Saturday, July 8th, 2006
Liberty Park - Sterling Heights, MI

Softball Magazine's Bat Wars event had a near record turnout of participants as players came from all over to try the newest and latest technology in softball bats. “This stop is unbelievable and has always been a great stop on the road for us. Michigan players love to hit and they love their softball, so it should be no surprise on how busy we are all day here at Liberty Park," said Bob Grey of Softball Magazine. Michigan was stop number two of thi
s year's Bat Wars “Rolling Road Show” with Indianapolis this weekend (July 15 Midwest
Sports Complex) and the grandda
ddy of the Bat Wars, the Disney date on September 23, at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex. With over three hundred new sticks to choose from, players were able to try new bats just being released for 2007 like the new Nexus from Louisville Slugger, the Mizuno Wrath, the Easton Stealth and the Demarini Juice just to mention a few. “What a day we had here at Michigan," said Glenn Ciardiello, the Bat Wars field general. "We always have a great turnout here, but this year's was the biggest we’ve seen,” continued Ciardiello. From deals on bats to shoes and cleats vendors row was stocked with deals, while Bat Wars participants won gear all day long in the Eastbay yellow ball promotion.

Bat Wars is sponsored by Eastbay “The Official Catalog of Bat Wars" and is the nation's premier softball event. For more information on upcoming Bat Wars events, go to www.batwars.com and be sure to checkout all the coverage of the Bat Wars Michigan event in the upcoming issue of Softball Magazine.
